Senior Crystal Bardge of Embry-Riddle took first place in the Women’s 100 meter hurdles finals, setting a new NAIA Championship record with a time of 13.28. She beat her own time that won the event last year, and beat the NAIA meet record of 13.33 set in 2004. Her time of 13.28 also qualifies as a “B” standard time for the U.S Olympic Trials, according to Embry-Riddle Athletics, meaning Bardge may have an opportunity to compete for an Olympic spot later this summer.
Verone Chambers of Oklahoma Baptist University placed second with 13.86 and Karen Hutson of Northwestern (Iowa) placed third at 14.20.
