Kayla Xavier of Concordia Oregon finished first in the Women’s Shot Put Friday, after a delayed start. NAIA officials were brought in when the laser did not seem to be measuring the women’s distances correctly.

Brianna Leslie, a junior from Azusa Pacific University, won the 2012 NAIA women’s heptathlon competition Friday.
“I feel great. I feel like I can breathe again. This environment is amazing,” said Leslie. “NAIA, I love it out here. I love the girls I competed with, and my coaches stayed with me the whole way. It was great.”

Wayland Baptist’s Bianca Grant flew to victory in Women’s Long Jump by jumping an impressive 6.23 meters.
Out of 29 competitors only nine would advance to the final round. Each jumper had three attempts with their best attempt counting towards the final measurement.
